[The shot starts with a close up of a Mousekat key toy, moving out to show it hanging from a rear-view mirror and a windshield from the inside of a car. A slow pan to the left and there's the steering wheel and her other hand holding out a key.]
Guess what I got?
[She says it in a sing-song voice, laughing and flipping the camera onto her grinning face.]
Better get down to cargo before I take off with it.
[ The look of pure excitement on his face can't be matched. He'd thought getting his old boots back had been like Christmas, but this is like every Christmas. ]
Feet can't even reach the pedals. Don't move!
[ He's up in a minute and the sound of his boots hitting the ground should make it clear that he's all but running. ]
[She's laughing too hard for it to sound indignant, excited in her own right. She wouldn't have tried anyway; there's no way she would dream of taking off without him even if she could.]
[ He sincerely doubts that she could drive stick, but he'll let her have it, instead opting to jog faster over speaking and it's not long before he makes it down to cargo and skids to a stop with his hip banging the driver's side of the hood. ]
[She snorts at the impact, fumbling to open the door for him and crawling over to the passengers seat. She flops into it sideways, legs pulled up to her chest. Her nose wrinkles at the statement.]
Better be.
[Last she'd seen of their car, it had been sitting in the city. BLI's cronies had probably gotten their hands all over it, took it apart or repainted it. She'd rather have it here.
She holds the key out, disperses the bad thought with a wiggle of her eyebrows.]
[Catching her breath, J rolls off from top of Kobra and lies down right next to him on the bed as the wave of pleasure washed through her, a warm feeling settling down on her bones. This was hardly the first time she's invited him over her room for similar business as this. While they hadn't known each other for that long, week or two tops, and that he wasn't the type she usually went for she still found herself enjoying from his company.
It's not like she there hasn't been anyone to flirt with (there was Peter and others) but she still feels like it's been forever since the last time she has gotten this kind of attention from a man. Really, having someone like him around was welcomed change. No questions or expectations. Just casual fun times.
She runs her fingers through her curls, pushing them away from her eyes as she turns her head to look back up to him, smirking widely. ]
[ For Kobra's part, J isn't the sort of woman he's used to, either. It's not for a lack of interest or attraction, but she's just a hell of a lot more civilized than anyone he'd known back home. She's clean and careful with her appearance, glamorous in a way that he's only really seen in pictures from Before.
He turns his head on the pillow to meet her smirk with his own dopey grin, still pretty blissed out. His hand shifts to rest on her thigh. ]
Somethin' about you I can't quite put my finger on.
[The touch only makes J's smirk to widen even more, the corners of her lips nearly reaching to her eyes, revealing some of her upper teeth. Looking like a smug cat, she bends her knee a little, prompting to his hand to slide down along it.
One brow arches up curiously as she tilts her head a little, resting it against his shoulder.]
[ He turns his head to slide his nose along her forehead, all puppy-like affection. ]
Wouldn't think you were real if I met you back home.
[ Even the sex droids he'd come across hadn't seemed quite like this. There's something grimy about even the cleanest things in the Zones and even in the City from what he's seen. ]
[Oh, now that's cute. J let's out a silent laughter at that comment, only letting out a hoarse rattled-sound as the air inside her throat. She shifts on the bed again, this time to open her MID and compose him a message:]
arent you a charming one. dont worry. heard that a lot back at home too.
Just thought I would come and say that in the end, you had the best solution.
I think we should have run. So what if they would have chased us, our ship would not have been in range of their ship and while we were moving our scientists could have worked more on the Ingress. And so what if it is "dishonorable". Look at what their honor does for them? They're fucking dead.
All this strategy was bullshit. Sometimes the best is to run.
yeah well people are pretty fuckin dismissive around here. everyone just kept tellin me that runnin was a bad idea like I didn't know what bein on the run is like to begin with.
[ He doesn't want to actually ADDRESS the slavery thing, in case it's still a sore point, but Bucky hopes the guy knows what he's really referring to. ]
Is there nothing I can do for ya? What about a good bottle of booze?
[ It's not often Bucky encounters a problem he can't solve with his fists or charms, especially when it comes to his friends. He'll stubbornly trek on until he finds a cure for these blues. ]
